    Hi,
I must say this is exactly what I was looking for : a tip you can easily remember whenever one might be lured into the “stake” trap. Tried it today on my 18 hole-course. Pressure putt to save bogey? I just tried to think about “I’ll try to put the ball close to the hole and make sure It won’t be worse than a double-bogey”. guess what? Saved most of them (bogeys), including a 12-feet putt I played without any crazy expectation. By the way, best round for me in 2014, shot 4 below my handicap. Great tip!

Dave, I understand the concept here. Just is, “want” and “desire” are so close (in my mind), that part does not make sense to me. What do you think about “I’m going to….” or “the ball is going to…” rather than “intend” or “desire?”

    Dave,
I usually enjoy your comments tremendously, and want to take this opportunity to thank you for sharing many insights I find valuable not just in golf, but in life in general.
However, I have to admit this one is extremely disappointing. You give absolutely no reason for it, and seem to be suggesting it would be “too complicated” for us to understand. By the same token, you leave me with the distinct feeling that you’re trying to share an extremely important concept, but I am one of those people who needs an explanation, before I can just blindly accept this type of a concept.
I would greatly appreciate it if you would “fill in the blanks,” and tell the “whole story” about this particular mental tip.
    Thank you!

      Response from David Breslow:

      Gary,

Nice to hear from you! No…nothing like you think. I left nothing out and said what was needed. The idea is this: the word “intend” is more definitive/clear to the mind/body relationship than the word “want” and therefore results are usually better too. The REASON for that is what I did not explain because a short quick-fix video is not the forum to do it justice. The Wired to Win audio–available on IG does a fine job of that and aligns the mind, body and emotions quite easily.

      Hope that helps!

      David Breslow
