I like what you are teaching and I’m working mostly on distance from the “tee” . Recently I moved to the “green” tees because I could not hit far enough (less then 200 yards), What I cannot “live” with is the fact that I can still turn 90 degrees, reach parallel on the backsnwing and even more but cannot hit it far. I transfer my weight but cannot do it with precise timing. I used to play leftty but a serious motorboat accident made me switch and since I have not been able to hit the 250 yard drives I used to get. I would settle for 230 now that I am older.

    • Michel,

So you are learning that it is not how far you coil back that gives you distance. It is about coiling like a spring and uncoiling with the lower body. You couple this with loose wrists and you will it the ball farther than ever.

So you need to be working on coiling around a stable base:

Greetings Paul Ok so when did you set up a camera in my back yard. Yes that is what i have been doing but not all the time ,i do sometimes check each position. Thanks for the great tip. On an unrelated point, when i am doing your favorite drill i can see the club head as it passes from downswing to follow through ,no ball there. Now i am starting to get the idea of not trying to hit a ball just coil and touch but why cant i.see the club head pass when a ball is there,is that something that just cant be.

Greetings Paul! This home practice video is very good. I like your style and it reminds me of 2 college math teachers I had. One was into his subject and could not sway from it when lecturing. It was hard to follw as I was struggling with advanced concepts, much like golf tips from some experts. The other guy, equally well qualified, explained the concepts, and demonstrated them for those who didn’t catch it the first time. We learned from this and I understoof the lessons and applied them well. This is what I really like about your videos. You take the time to explain the problems we might encounter and suggest good alternatives and solutions for the problem areas. I have gained a lot in just a few weeks of watching your free videos, in fact it was so impressive, I decided to join Ignition Golf as an annual member. I think my game will improve with your instruction and I will again have fun with the game rather than being frustrated all of the time with techniques that I couldn’t make work for me.
    Cheers!
