My local range now has a ball tracer. I am 69 yrs and the ball speed with my driver is about 115 mph although it is very occasionally up to 125 mph and the range balls go about 190 yards. I know the pro’s are up to 180 mph but what speed should I be trying to reach? I agree that sometimes the ball still goes 190 yards even with a slower ball speed.

There could be other factors involved such as launch angle, swing path and clubhead speed. You might want to look at hitting some balls on a launch monitor and seeing what the technical data is showing.

would the turning of the belt buckle to the target generate a higher speed compared to pushing using the right legs and hip? Thanks Paul
