PeterGunnMy local range now has a ball tracer. I am 69 yrs and the ball speed with my driver is about 115 mph although it is very occasionally up to 125 mph and the range balls go about 190 yards. I know the pro’s are up to 180 mph but what speed should I be trying to reach? I agree that sometimes the ball still goes 190 yards even with a slower ball speed.

Paul WilsonThere could be other factors involved such as launch angle, swing path and clubhead speed. You might want to look at hitting some balls on a launch monitor and seeing what the technical data is showing.

drismailmatwould the turning of the belt buckle to the target generate a higher speed compared to pushing using the right legs and hip? Thanks Paul

Paul WilsonThese are both downswing triggers that will create speed in your golf swing to hit hte ball a long way. You have to decide which one works best for you. They are both accomplishing the same end result of using your lower body to get power. These are both great tips for you:
