Well said as usual. I have been a member for about 8 months now and powerless arms is still difficult for me at times. I am getting a lot better at reaching the touch legs, touch head positions while actually playing now and the shots improve when I do that. I find that holding my finish position when actually playing is helpful as well. When I am not able to do that I have instant feedback that I did not make a very good swing. I have been hearing more and more that my swing looks really nice and smooth now and that is nice feedback as well. Most of my practice time now is spent in the back yard doing your favorite drill. I am able to go to a nearby ball field and practice my chipping and short pitches and, using your methods, those shots are improving also. I will be coming up for renewal soon and want you to know that I plan to renew my membership for sure. I have learned enough to drop out and save some money now, but I love the site and knowing that I can contact you for help and advice is invaluable. Also being able to review any videos whenever I feel the need is great also. You have done so much to bring back my enjoyment of this game that I plan to be a lifetime member.

      Gary,

Glad you are doing well. That is a great summary. Sounds like you are on track and working on it how I want you to work on it.

Thanks for wanting to re-new. I don’t know why anyone would quit. If I had a site like this years ago I would have been all over it. You cannot stop learning. I am even coming up with new ways to says things and get people in position even faster. It’s an investment in your game. If you add up all of the lessons I took, times I spent in Florida for many winters and 30+ years I worked on it I am easily over $100k for my swing. This site will literally save people years of time. Just doing practice swings in the backyard would save people thousands of dollars and years of frustration.

Into the future I will be adding more and more tips to help people get to their goal. I hope everyone else sticks around too. It’s well worth it.

    Hi Paul
Maybe people should translate powerless as passive and it might help them overcome the conceptual problem late learners have
about the golf swing. I’m one of those and it took me a while to realise practically that this is what you are actually saying. Namely that the body is the powerhouse and the arms are passive and follow the body rather than leading it. I spend most of my indoor training moving my legs and telling my arms to stop interfering! Fellow golfers who start up and/or down with their arms because they can, should spend lots more time simply doing the moves without a ball. I have found this invaluable and my iron play has improved drastically. I have not managed to get this into my driver play consistently but I’m working on it.
I might also add that I have re-watched the full swing lessons and they are a very good explanation of the powerless arms process.

      David,

I keep telling everyone to do the practice swings at home. I hope they’re listening. This really is the fastest way to build a great swing. Plus, you can work on it every night instead of 1 bucket a week.

For driver, make sure you are doing the roll over drill at home. This will get you releasing the longer clubs. This will eliminate 1 side of the fairway. Couple this with body rotation an you’ve got it.

Great tip Paul. My brain still has a hard time with feeling “nothing” but your advice on sticking with the right positions at first makes a lot of sense. Recently sent a video of my current swing to Pete and he was very good at picking up subtle things I was doing wrong. I would highly recommend other members go that route to confirm that they are doing what they think they are. Your rate is very reasonable and worth every penny.

      Tom,

      Glad you liked it. Thanks.

If Pete is picking out smaller things that would indicate you are really close. Just knock them off one at a time and it will make a big difference in your swing.

People really aren’t taking advantage of swing analysis. We had had all of 10 people do them. This is truly mind boggling to me. I keep coming up with things to help people get to the next level yet few take advantage of them. I would have killed for this service many years ago. I was taking lessons in Florida yet I would go home to Canada for the winter. When I did I had no way of knowing what I was working on. What a waste of time. For my teacher to check it for all of $20 would have been great. Oh well, we will just keep doing what we are doing. Hopefully, more and more people take advantage of it.

I bought three lessons for $49 the same day that I bought the Virtual Golf School videos. When used together it is a great combo and hard to beat for less than $100.

  4. I sent an Email discontinuing my membership in Revolution Golf. I have stopped playing for awhile but did enjpy your pointers.

      David,

You do know RG has nothing to do with IG? I’m you meant you quit IG that’s a different story. You need to contact our admin to do that. Glad you like tips.

  5. Good tip. Thanks. Would you recommend a beginner to play with driver and woods, or stick to hybrids and irons? At the moment i dont have a 3wood or a driver, and not sure if it is something i should buy?

      Stian,

You can certainly use all of the clubs. You can also just keep building a great swing with the clubs you have. Once you do, then make the investment in some half decent woods. I started many years ago with a 5 piece set. No driver. Then I went to ladies clubs. Then I got my first men’s full set. At this point I could actually play half decent so it was time. I think you will know when it’s time too.

  6. This is the magic tip that did it! 245 effortlessly! Well it’s cumulative. A lot of hard work , Skype lessons with Pete. But it’s the same swing! When you said you don’t try to hit your seven iron 190 yards it all made perfect sense, of course I wouldn’t try and do something like that that would be completely idiotic. So I was just hitting my driver in the fairway all day today I ended up with a 245 a 230 a 220 3W. Thank you Paul. If you recall one month ago I was hitting my drives 175. Your stuff works. It just takes time and effort, Now, do you have a magic tip for thin approach shots…? 🙂

      Ben,

I love hearing about the magic moment. It never gets old. I had this when I stopped trying to hit the ball with my arms too. Great feeling.

Thin shots is you trying to hit it too hard. It is a clue staring you in the face. The harder you hit, the more you will look to see what you did to it. The harder you hit the more your forearm muscles will contract pulling the club off of the ground. So as soon as you see topped or thin shots … slow down.

  7. Thanks Paul! This tip and the taking it to the course tip basically describe my weekend exactly. So I’m right on course 🙂

    Paul:
I am a new member and wanted to ask about the service you have with Pete. I read about it in one of the comments above from Thomas Loftus on Aug 8 2015 . What is involved and how do you do this. Also what is the cost ?
    Thanks Burt
