DavidSchlossPaul, i have a question not specifically related to this tip. Im hitting my fairway woods fat so the ball goes 100 or so yards. I feel that it is not as simple as get on the front leg sooner since I have been hitting my irons fine. Any tips to cleanly hit longer clubs?

Paul WilsonDavid,
Yes, it is that simple. I did a tip on it here:

TomPaternaPaul,
You did a tip recently about grip pressure at the top of the backswing. You felt it should be around 8 out of 10.
Starting at address with grip at “2” and end at “8” is a little tricky to do though. When I get it right and wrists are loose, I get good results. What do you think about starting at “8”, so as to remove one thing to be aware of at top of swing.

Paul WilsonTom,
That is not going to work because if you grip that hard at address you will tighten your forearms and lock your wrists. You grip is naturally tightening as you go bad so you don’t let go of the club. It’s a secure grip but loose wrists.
