In this tip I not only explain why and where a ball spins when it is hit from above your feet but I show you the various setup adjustments you need to make to hit these shots well.
Hey Paul,
This is a great video on the ball above your feet, but my problem is when the ball is above your feet, and the pin direction causes your feet to be left above the right or vise versa. Also, just un-level ground gives me problems. I think these can only be practiced on the course, but you may have a solution. Thanks for all your help; it’s slowly working.
There is no magical answer for hitting from uneven lies. You keep building a great swing. You then make adjustments to the setup based on the lie. These adjustments are outlined in the 4 tips below. You then vary these adjustments based on the severity of the lie. Then it is all about experience and practice.
I play on a hilly course. On some holes you have the ball well above your feet but you have a long shot, in excess of 200 yards on the approach. The problem is when I take my 3wood, choked down to compensate for the ball being closer to my face, the wood face looks severly to the left and the the round head choked down, it looks very shut.
I gave up on trying to hit this club and went to a rescue club because squaring up is very difficult with a 3 2ood and when I do hit it, the right to left curve is so pronounced with the short grip down, I get shots the go further left then straight. Any tips?
