Different things work for different people. If it is working for you then keep doing it. A good coil is vital in creating the spring-like effect.

I don’t have one for that. I would play it back in the stance or be very still as you don’t want to lose balance.

richardpeyserPaul, I get that for the backswing keeping shoulders level, but for the downswing, the hips move and this causes the shoulders to tip somewhat from the level position. Is this not the case?

It is a feeling of more level shoulders going back. In the downswing they most certainly do tilt.
