RaymondCHASTELA pretty good mental image of the golf swing to have in mind when you swing .
It does help.
In fact the trajectory of the clubhead is more or less an ellipsis as there are two centers of rotation (Back leg and front leg )and the formula “MA+ MB = 2a “(2a = distance between the feet ) applies,M being the joint hands .Videoscopic vidéos do show it’s is an ellpsis ,or at least a curve situated on an ellipsoïd

JimBenjaminI was relating to the circle to focus on keeping the club face on the circle throughout a swing just to allow the body to react to “keeping” the club face on the circle so the body would move to accomplish the task. If players are struggling to “kiss the knees” this drill makes it happen. I was having a hard time getting into the “kissing knees” position. I tried different ways without success. The first time I tried this drill I got into the desired “kissing knees” position easily. Focus on the club face and the change in focus will help you turn. Like throwing a ball, the unconscious “method” is within us, we just have to bring it out.

Paul WilsonJim,
Glad you found a way to get it. This is very important in the swing and in repeating it consistently.
