When I look at my swing in video, my left arm buckles not because I retract my forearms but because my body stops turning. My right arm is extended but the arms are too much ahead of the body. Even when I drive solely with my lower body my lag angle is lost too soon and the club bends back my left left wrist backwards at the spot where the full extension is supposed to be. Tough to get into the extension position with insufficient lag.

I have yet to see a golfer with powerless arms not extend them fully after the ball is hit. You see, turning your arms off gets the by moving because if they are turned off you have no other way to generate power than with your body.
Losing the lag angle is using your arms. Again, if they were turned off the club would lag using simple physics of the mass trailing behind the axis. This would compress the lag angle until the last millisecond where it would then release.
So you need to be working on lag and releasing it. Then add the body later. I spent years working on this. For you to get it without physically working on it would be very difficult.

I am making great improvements.
Hired a personal trainer for stretching and strength rehab. The improvement in my flexibility is remarkable and allows me to finish my back swing. Hitting my iron shots high and almost back in distance to, say, 10 years ago. But: Still pulling my irons when I line up square to target line. Can you recommend some links on solving this problem?

That’s great news. I think you have spent so much time on the backswing you are not firing the lower body enough to get it ahead of the arms coming down. This is causing the pull. Just remember … if you are pulling you are pulling the club down (with your arms).
