In this tip I show you how to get the ball out of a plugged lie in the bunker.  Once you know this you will never have to fear these shots again.  These shots really are easier than you think.

    Hi Paul

How would you play a shot in wet compact sand greenside tight to the pin ?

Your tuition and tips are one of the best i have seen and the amount of clear detail you give is perfect, keep up the good work….

Martin, Glad you like my tips. Thank you very much.

To this this shot you square up the face. You need it to dig into the sand. I like taking the club into the backswing and hitting down on the ball stopping the club a few feet after the ball. I learned this shot a little while ago and really like it. It’s great for hard sand or no sand. So set up square. Have the face square. Pick the club up going back. Accelerated down and through impact. The ball will pop out and the club only goes through a few feet. Hopefully you get it. If not you will have to wait until I shoot this one.

  2. HI Paul! On this shot do You use the concept of powerless arms or do You have to use more of an armswing to get the ball out? Thanks, Werner

    • Werner,

You are hitting this shot with the arms and body just trying to get it out. As soon as the club hits the sand you will feel your arms tighten.
