TIMADAMSPaul,
I have a nice shot with the medium range pitch’s BUT I have a lot of trouble with the short Pitch technique why is this?

Paul WilsonTim,
Because you are not good at it and still trying to hit the ball with your arms. This is the toughest of all 3 shots. People don’t like doing it because it’s not a big long backswing So keep practicing it knowing you are just setting the backswing. You are getting power with your hips turning the other way. If you still can’t get it do the medium pitch with the face open to deduct yardage. This will give you more backswing and a better feeling then keep working on the shorter backswing for the future.

RaymondCHASTELLuminous training session ,Paul, common sense ( Just get on the Green ) and be practical ( Buried or not Buried lie ).I try to train the sense OF distance by just throwing balls underhanded to the pin ,from various distances .I trust m’y swing to do the adjustment ,I don’t think at all to the short,médium, long backswings ,I don’t want to clutter m’y mind .When I walk m’y big German Shepherd dog in the Forest close to my house ,twice a day ,one hour and a half ,I toss him sticks to various distances for him to run after .This training probes also quite effective and pays off with m’y accuracy at pitch shots !

Paul WilsonRaymond,
Well for most shortening the swing is the way to go. Simple and memorable.

FrancisJordanWhat is the difference between a”flop”and a pitch . What is a “knock down”shot
April 17, 2016
Paul WilsonFrancis,
A flop is with an open face. The ball goes higher and stops faster. A knock down shot is lower as it is played off the back foot. If the circumstances are right the shot will bounce 2-3 times and check.

ShaneJonasHi paul.
Im Shane from Australia. I just joined for annual membership few weeks ago. Love the website! Use the dashboard mainly, very well organised, you guys have been very busy.
Working on touching the knees, touch the head on the full swing currently (straighten left leg first, when thats automatic, ill go to knees touching).
Ive always been an arms hitting hard as i can player. This pitching technique also seems a good way to train the powerless arms,

Paul WilsonShane,
Glad you have you on board. We have a lot of members from Australia.
I like what you are working on. Just stick to the grip, setup and follow through. Make these perfect then work on coil and finally hinge. If so you will be learning it exactly how I teach it. Keep us posted.

StephenClutterPaul, I am using you pitching technique to good results. However I tend to hit them to the right (push). How can I straighten them out?

Paul WilsonStephen,
Just do the roll over drill about 10 times then hinge and turn.
DRILL: 3 Ways To Roll It Over: https://ignitiongolf.com/3-ways-to-roll/
Roll Around The Stick: https://ignitiongolf.com/roll-around-stick/
You can fix this in 5 mins. if you roll it first. I would suspect you are either looking early to see these amazing shots you think you are going to hit or your wrists are too tight.

JohnBensonWow I musta missed this video.
This is a great one for me because I practice pitching every day in my front and backyard.
At the course I play mostly has a practice pitching and Bunker area than I usually do 30, 20 and 10 yards chip and pitching practice.
What I like about this video is the randomness because that’s the challenge of the game itself… You never know what lie and distance you’re gonna get!

Paul WilsonJohn,
Very good. It is all about practice. Get them on first. This is step 1. If you can do this you know your worst shot will be on the green so there is no pressure.
