JohnChewI have improved my golf game from watching your videos. I still have problems hitting irons well and unable to get the feeling of compressing the ball. can you provide some tips for just hitting irons?

Paul WilsonFirst you want to make sure you look at your set-up positions; grip, width of stance and then body angles. Then you want ot be working on the 2 ending positions of mine; touching the legs and then touching the head. Search for them and you will find many many tips on them both. Then I would suggest the “roll-over” drill to getting your wrists a lot looser, this alone will get you hitting the golf ball better than you ever have. All of my drills are for all golf clubs in your bag, not just driver or not just irons. You have 1 golf swing.

daviddonaldsonHave you a view on the recent trend towards pros playing their driver off their front foot or even forward of it. My basic understanding is that it enables them to hit more on the up and launch the ball higher with less spin and greater carry. Had a recent Trackman lesson from my local pro and that seemed to also be his suggestion.
Great stuff again from you, as always.

Paul WilsonI haven’t seen many pros playing it in fron tof their feet, I would still think that they are inside the stance when setting up to the golf ball. But, yes they are trying to hit the golf ball on the up swing. The trend is to hit up on it more, like Rory McIlroy, then this can get more carry. Hitting down on the driver would impact more backspin, but this is done by driving your legs and hips harder.

JeffreyGardinerI think that is the first time I have heard the forearms Parallel to the thighs, seems to be an excellent set-up key.

Paul WilsonAn easy way for you to check this out, set-up in front of a mirror or window and you can see for yourself.

JamesBoydVery helpful. I believe poor posture has negatively affected my ball striking and seeing how the shoulders, knees and toes line up is extremely beneficial visual. Thank you.

JohnFitzgeraldIn a number of the videos you talk about 16 things to check in the set up. Is there any place where you list those 16 items?

Paul WilsonHere is a greatr place to start: Learning the Setup Routine: https://ignitiongolf.com/learning-setup-routine/ This tip will go through the steps of your set up routine. I do not list all 16 things, but this is what you should be focusing on when getting ready to hit the golf ball.
