Yup. Great ‘reminders’. For me, the overhead shots help me really see the head movement. Is amazing and I still tell my buddies that I am moving my head. Can’t argue with the results!! The body tilt on driver is a good reminder about being in the proper position. Is much easier to see in slo mo.

      Kim,

Funny that people would actually keep their head still. How can you possible shift your weight if you don’t move your head.

This is great!!! For those who have ever noticed how much better we tend to play after watching the pros on TV or in person, this is a real help in visualizing the swing we want to reproduce. I have used similar videos in times past to really help the mental side of my game as well, by seeing a perfect swing performed over and over. You will notice that after a few viewings, you will feel your muscles reacting to the video, and instilling some muscle memory into your golf swing for better ball striking. Paul, I really appreciate your help with this. You’re the Man!!! I believe you have a winner here.

      Larry,

Glad you liked it. When I shot my videos in Tunica Mississippi I was mesmerized watching Iron Byron so I get what you mean.

I really like the slow motion clips! Thank you!
I really like being able to stop the clip at points and see exactly what it going on.
And yes, it’s a beautiful swing.

Your methods have tremendously helped my driver and long clubs distance and accuracy. HUGE improvement and confidence. The lower mid irons the distance is there, but the accuracy falls off. Then with the 8 and 9 iron, I just seem loose it all. Those clubs being short, are so steep, whatever I am doing is not working with them. I seem to lose your methods ‘feel’ with those short clubs. Any ideas?

      Brian,

When people can’t hit the lower clubs they are too tilted at setup. Once you tilt too much you hit down too much. Focus on the taller set up and coiling and uncoiling. Maybe tee it up until you are used to it then lower the tee. Once you get used to this these clubs will be a breeze.

    Hi Paul,

I believe you have hit a home run with these videos of your swing. If others are like me, visuals are extremely helpful. I can more readily learn by copying than by any other method. That being said, you have explained things in your tips that I would not have picked up just by watching. You have an uncanny ability to dissect the golf swing and explain it like no one else I have ever encountered.

    Thank you,
    Len Koblenz

      Len,

Thanks for the kind words. I appreciate it. Glad the swings could help.

        Hi Paul,

Just watched this video again to look at a specific thing. At address in the slo-mo swing with the long iron and driver, I placed my cursor on your nose. At the top of the backswing the cursor is just OUTSIDE of you forward ear. As best as I can judge, this is four inches – just as you said. 🙂 Your reason for doing is makes so much sense – as do all of your tips.

        Thanks,
        Len

Still viewing your swing on a regular basis. I like to watch the whole set the night before golfing the next day. This is great!!!

Excellent Paul..What a delight to watch..Enjoy seeing many of the things you are trying
    to teach us. Thanks.

Paul..I notice that your iron shots have a very crisp sound as you make contact
with the ball. Are you making any attempt to hit down on the ball. Or are you just
thinking about turning the hips and touching the legs. Beautiful to watch.

Thanks Paul its a beautiful smooth swing !! I can’t wait to get to the golf course and try to visualize and copy your swing .. Thanks .

  13. Thanks again Paul for posting this video. I am still watching the video in preparation for a round of golf. For me it is easier use the mental images of your swing. Whether I am duplicating it perfectly or not, my scores have steadily gotten better and better. Finally getting my driver under control by not swinging so hard. Your teaching methods have really helped me learn to enjoy golf again with very little of the back pain I was experiencing this time last year. Keep up the good work and I will keep watching and studying your site.

    • Larry,

Good stuff. Swinging easy. Very little back pain. Enjoying golf again. Yes, what I say can happen. Once you get these things it’s a whole new game.

      Keep up the good work.

Great video, one question in your golf swing & pros in down swing your head drops vertically 3-4 inches what makes this happen? Seems to me when I rotate with hips elevation of top of head should remain the same????

      Donald,

The head drops for a couple of reasons:

      1. I am trying to look at what I am hitting.

      2. Your body tilts more at impact than it was at address

      Watch:

Should you purposely drop your head? No. I have never thought of this in 35 or so years of playing golf. What you need to do is work on the positions and fundamentals of the golf swing. If you have the right fundamentals your head will drop too.

Here are the positions you need to be working on:

Looks so easy. I guess as long as I stand tall (almost straight up and down) its just about coiling the Shoulders back and uncoiling while keeping the eyes for the blur. I need to get taller again!

      Stian,

Simple is difficult. Most people want to overdo it and hit the ball. This makes is look over blown. Simple.

    Hey Paul:
The fluidity of your swing is my ultimate goal, however, I can’t find a good consistent place to focus my eyes on.
What are your eyes focused on during the swing? I’m trying to find some consistent place to focus having tried back of ball, top of ball, space between club & ball, but can’t get consistent with this. What should I be watching.
    thanks
    Bruce

    Hi Paul,
When I observe your swing in slow motion, i have a question about the left wrist.
I see at the end of backswing that your left wrist is completely flat. As we start at setup position with a little angle in relation with the adress grip , I suppose you progressively turn it to reach the flat position at the end of your backswing , and at the downswing you maintain this flat position until we begin to turn it (now i maintain my initial wrist position at the top of the backswing, which is not flat but hinge)
    What is your recommendation ?

    Thanks for your teaching
    Jean
