    Paul,

This is an excellent follow up to the recent video describing the release drill in which one cocks the wrists, checking to make sure one can see the butt of the club in front of the hands, then uncocks and recocks, again checking that the grip end is visible in front of the hands. I began the daily cock-uncock-recock drill 25 times per day. After just one day my irons were pure and on line, and subsequent daily practice of the drill has continued to improve my release. Shot my age (72) twice in the past week since beginning the drill, and that with mediocre putting. Yesterday’s three birdies were from iron shots that finished at 3.5, 4, and 5 feet from the cup. Three birdies from 12 1/2 feet of putts.

I have had two local teaching pros tell me that lack of effective release was costing me distance and consistency but neither could demonstrate how to achieve a release. These two recent videos of yours show why you are such an effective teacher. You can not only identify what needs to be done, but you can teach how to do it.

This is a great tip for me because in a video of my swing I saw that I was cupping (club head before the hands and grip) at impact. You probably have a tip to address that but I as a new member have not found that yet. So going to take the 1 bucket challenge and work hard on this to ease up the swing, and deloft the club on impact which will help. This tip also seems to help on coordinating the turn as you can “feel” what 2 foot past impact position. Practice swings only so far.

Tried the one bucket drill and it was amazing. Ball going just as far and even with a slight draw. Enjoyed that so much I had to hit another bucket. Thanks Paul

Paul, does this drill also work with fairway woods and driver to enhance solid contact?

    Thanks

Great tip Paul. It works. Locking up or tightening my wrists is where things break down for me.
    Great drill
    Thanks
