Paul ,You remind me of THE “TURN IN THE BARREL ” taught a long ,long Time ago, before World War 2,starting to teach in 1896 !!! by famous English Pro ,PERCY BOOMER .His book “ON LEARNING GOLF “is a marvel OF simplicity ,just Like THE way you teach:h

      Raymond,

I don’t like turn in a barrel because the edges are curved. I like turn in cylinder. I hear there are similarities between us. Maybe I should look at his stuff one of these days.

Excellent drill,Paul,to be done on a regular basis .It compléments the TWO CYLINDERS ” drill you demonstrated a short Time before ,better image then the PERCY BOOMER’ s ” TURN IN A BARRELL” move .
A question : is the Turn both sides initated or not by the Weight shift OF the body ,first to the right leg ,then to the left leg ,I mean from the ground up ,rather than turning the Belly button back then through ,which is what I do ( I don’t think OF m’y feet at all ,but I may be wrong ).
The ” Weight move ” idea was promoted by famous CANADIAN star Pro ,GEORGE KNUDSON ,with his ” NATURAL GOLF ” teaching .

      Raymond,

I want you to turn the shoulders. In doing so the weight will shift. If you just think shift a la Knudson you will sway side to side. You are coiling your spring. To coil you need an axis to coil around so the weight will shift if you coil properly. Do the helicopter drill and you will see that when you coil your head moves.

Paul ,Is this a “two post “drill :First move weight onthe back leg ,second move the weight on front leg?
I mean you don’t try to keep the weight centered .
