Well, Paul, great tip and spot on time!! I’ve suffered with lack of proper and complete coiling – so in morning yesterday reviewed the “How do you coil” tip. Truth is I don’t and haven’t been doing it well at all. So, watched the tip before headed to the “old guys” MWFriday tee. First 5 holes some good shots and a few magnificint due to a complete coil turn – wow, what a difference in both ball direction and distance. It’s so obvious to me that if I don’t or can’t due the coil correctly as you explain in this tip – there is a 99% chance that I will have no clue of direction or distance, but, if I do fully coil, WOW… The “FULL” coil also seems to help me start the uncoil with my “trigger”…. Obvious no doubt due to the great improvement in direction. Thanks so much, now I know the “first move” in the golf swing is so critical for success – so, it goes to the top of the list!!

  2. Hey Coach! Today, while on the practice tee, I hit my normal array of clubs, (5, 7,9, Gap Wedge, 4 Hybrid, 3 Wood, and my Driver 8 shots each. I begin with the Wedge and work my way through the clubs until all have been hit.
My Irons were straight and true for the expected distance. My woods, however, beginning with the Hybrid were atrocious. It seemed like I hit everything but the ball and when I did hit it I was all over the place.
I hit every other day and have never seen this before.
Do you have any idea as to what caused anomaly?
    See you on the tee,

Hello Richard, it sounds like you are swinging too hard. So anytime you lose it you slow down to 50%. You do the roll over drill and get every shot hooking. So you hit the top and roll it. Get it hooking. If so, you are doing something consistently. Once you can hook 10 in a row then switch to lower body. If the hips fire first you will hit it straight. So anytime you lose it you need to do something consistently. Rolling it makes every ball hook. This is half right. This is consistent. It is consistently hooking (wrists are releasing). The you work on the other half which is your body which affects the direction. So you are always going between those 2 things. Release and hips. Watch your ball it will tell you exactly what to do. I have tons of tips on the roll over drill. Just type roll over in the search if you need to see exactly how to do it.
