Bob RichterPaul do you teach the belt buckle facing the target on follow through or the shoulder pointing at the target? This is a good drill. I tend to over rotate my hips it appears

Paul WilsonBob,
I like the belt buckle parallel to the target. In doing so the right shoulder will come around a little more but definitely not pointing at the target. Here is a way to check how much around you should be swinging:

JeffRogersWhat is the dashboard vs the other teaching method?
August 15, 2018
Paul WilsonJeff,
You will notice in the tips I send out there are 2 links. Dash and oringial site. I had the dash custom built to allow members to save tips to their own custom to do list. A video showing how to use it was right when you logged in for the very first time here:
ignitiongolf.com/members/
I will be getting rid of it and doing something very similar on the original site in the very near future.

MichaelQuarnePaul, regarding losing saved favorites, take a screen shot. Then you have them in printable form.

RaymondCHASTELExcellent reminder tip ,Paul ,too any people overotate their hips going into the backswing .
A question :is it advisable to hover the club over the ball before starting your swing .
Jack NICKLAUS did it ,but many recent Top players don ‘t .

Paul WilsonRaymond,
I don’t like people hovering it. They never seem to do it right and get too tight before they take it back. Nicklaus and Norman hovered it ever so slightly off the ground. Most every I have seen hovers it a few inches which is not good or not what they were doing.

DavidWeinsteinHi Paul
This is EXACLTY what I did to, finally, acquire your swing and it has worked. My only concern is that you are advocating to speed up the hip rotation in order to gain clubhead speed, not the arms. So when I do that, I find that I am losing the synchronization and I end up pushing the ball. The more violent I turn the hip, the worse it is. Morevoer, sometimes I end up losing control completely. Is it possible that I have reached the maximum of my hip roataions? If not, how do I increase it, perhaps gradually? I remember your demonstration with your student, how can I achieve the same thing without you standing next to me?
Best,
Davidw

Paul WilsonDavid,
Very good.
I have a tip on this that I have sent out to tons of people. Follow this tip:
DRILL: Golf Swing Timing For More Distance: https://ignitiongolf.com/timing-more-distance/
You can increase it gradually or faster if you follow the tip above. This is simple to fix. You need to eventually drive this lower very quick to get full power.

RaymondCHASTELBEN HOGAN advised to turn the hips as fast as possible ,but this fast rotation forwards has to be done “smooooothly “and while accelerating in the turn ,not perform a jerky move.Hips and shoulders being linked by the core with loose wrists and hands holding the club ,you should not be pushing the ball, unless you tighten involuntarily the grip .

Paul WilsonRaymond,
The problem is there is timing between the body and the release. If you only speed up one you will lose consistency. Do you do the wrist release sooner then add body to straighten it out. Then you can fire the lower quick which is what you need to do.

DanKueblerPaul, have written about difficulty in finding my “trigger for life”!! To date have used “lock the leg” – then intermittently, went to “belt buckle to the target”, however, in yesterday’s 18, felt myself really “push off with my big toe”!!!! Felt very comfortable and was able to replicate it in some of the swings through 18th hole. For all other triggers experimented with, the results using the “big toe/instep” were far superior in carry distance of the ball. So, am using this new trigger exclusively with your “best drill” in preparation for 18 tomorrow… Thanks!!!

Paul WilsonDan,
Very good. Now keep doing it. This might be for weeks or months. Got to give it time to settle in. Sounds good so far though.
