Hi Raymond,
This exercise should be done slow and controlled. If I wanted to train this type of movement for speed and fast twitch muscle fiber I would choose to throw (see ‘Throwing For More Speed and Power’). This exercise is also great for the unfolding right elbow that you mention. Another great one for the release is found in a couple other videos I’ve done, though the titles don’t reflect it: 1. ‘Backswing Width – Part 1’, and 2. ‘Advancing Backswing Width’. You’ll be seeing an exercise for the release soon in an upcoming video as well!

I also train THE triceps with THE SPEED CHAIN and THE TORSO BURNER:they are quite effective tools.

Thank you for this exercise. I am considering buying a device called the somax hip trainer. If you know anything about this and have any thoughts you’d care to share I would appreciate it. You can look it up online if you have not seen this trainer. It intrigues me because it seems to be a good fit with less hands and arm involvement in the golf swing while promoting a faster hip turn.
