    PETERMCMULLEN

    To feel the coil I need to restrict the rotation of my hips. If I let my hips rotate too much I lose the tightness of the coil. Does that sound correct?

      Peter,

      That is definitely corrected. Just be careful to not restrict them too much. While restricting them feel the shoulder coil pull the hips into place. Feel the hips pull your knees into place as your feet are the base. Some resist so much they only get about a 45 degree shoulder turn.

    I tend to be leaning a bit forward on my follow-through. Is this a problem and what do you suggest? M

      Michael,

      That is pretty pretty. Most people are hanging back too much. You may be trying to get off the back foot too much. Just feel a little more backwards tilt through impact then feel vertical as you finish over top of the lead leg. You can also do some practice swings (no club) a few inches from the wall in a door way or find a tree or something else that will stop you from leaning forward. Really you need to get to the root of the problem. There has to be something causing it.

    Paul,The big difference between the Pro’s and the Amateurs is in the amplitude of the coil and of the uncoil :to send the ball father you have to coil and uncoil more and move faster.That’s what you have to exercize for .The TORNADO Ball is great for that as is THE ULTIMATE SWING TRAINER .But I keep in mind when coiling to keep my right instep firmly “screwed ” into the ground and the right knee flexed :this limits the back coil but gives a better torque and “push off “.
    I also keep in mind what you said in another video lesson to turn the back to the target in the backswing and then turn the belly button fully through in the throughswing
