  1. Hey paul
What is your thought on shaft lean before one takes there swing?
I see a lot of better golfers set up and before they swing they push there shaft forward
Why is this and is it something we should be doing?

    Paul,

Actually did this one yesterday making sure that I was extending my arms! When I did the follow thru to touching my head (which I am horrible still about doing cause I can’t wait to hit the next one either!) and held it, usually I was watching a pretty good shot all the way to landing, just trying to get the feeling ingrained. I took the advice for a while and didn’t worry about exactly where it was going, just that I was making repetitive good contact and ball flight. The follow through was so important to making sure that the other ‘pieces’ were being put together properly (especially arm extension) and I wasn’t reintroducing my old ‘armsy’ swing/hugging the club.

Thanks for making ‘what to remember’ so easy. Confidence is still going up (but gonna resist the ‘overexpectation’ next time out. :p)

    • Kim,

Funny that everyone wants more power and consistency yet the don’t want to do a position that helps with both of those things. Keep working on it and master it. This wouldn’t take me more than 3 days because I would do it thousands of times at home in perfect practice swings. Keep at it. You can do it.

  3. Paul ,This “drill” is valid on the driving range ,it’s more difficult to hold a “photo” finish when you play on the golf course, your partners are likely to find your demeanor a bit particular!
But you can hold the finish position for a second or two!
