Paul how do you get to all your favorite tips that I saved or do you only get to see the last five you saved
Paul ,These two VIDEOS on THE SLICE and THE HOOK are amont THE best you have produced .In particular you show with great clarity THE foremost role of THE lower body rotation .For those who don’t manage to release properly their wrists ,it may be useful for them to,know there are swing aids such as the SWINGRITE and another one developed by KELVIN MIYAHIRA to show them how to properly unlock THE wrists in THE downswing .

Paul….Could you speak to the proper distance from the ball with the driver. Thanks

With driver you will be about 8 inches from the butt end of the club to your belt buckle.

I think these tips cover it:

Paul,I seldom have a problèm with driving ,sincè I adopted your technique ,concentrating in turning the lower body fastest possible in the downswing.I have the problèm with FAIRWAY Wood nô 3 ,where I “thin”or top the ball ,it scuttles a long the ground 100 meters or So .
M’y grip is not quite the one you advocate:left hand very strong ,four knuckles showing ,right hand weak ,V towards the Chin .
With the driver ,the shot is always straight ,with a slight Draw .
Same for the FAIRWAY Wood nô 3 when I don’t top or thin it .
Is my grip responsible for my erratic game with FAIRWAY Wood nô 3 ?
This doesn’ t happen with FAIRWAY Wood no5 .

Yes, a strong grip can be responsible for the thin and topped shots because it puts your hands on in a position of strength. The harder you hit, the more the arms buckle, the more you will will take a look at the shot. Not sure why you would want a strong grip anyway. A strong grip slows down the release because releasing it with loose wrists would cause you to hit a big hook. So you will tighten a little so you don’t hook it thus slowing the club down. Do the neutral grip.

Paul ,thanks for the advice .Would two knuckles of the left hand ( instead of the four I show presently ) and the. ” V” of the right hand towards the right shoulder ( Instead of towards the Chin as now ) qualify for a ” neutral” grip?
On the subject of stance ,watching RORY Mc ILROY at the USPGA at VALHALLA ,I notéd hé had a fairly aide stance when driving .
On your recommandation ,I’ve,reduced my stance where the inside of the soles were at shoulder width ,to outside of the soles at shoulder width : I Turn better on the throughswing this way ,bur of course I’m not as flexible as RORY !

Yes, 2 knuckles is neutral. Just try it for a while and see if it loosens the wrists to make the club swing faster. For about the first 30 balls you will blow it right. Just keep doing it and once you get past this you will hit it straight with the weaker grip. Most people give up after about 5 shots that go right.
I want the stance that width so you always do the exact position and your swing never falls apart. If they are touching today and touching together 5 years from now they are still touching. If your stance is wider and they are not touching you now have to check it every time to make sure you are doing it exactly right because you have no feedback telling you that you are doing it right.
Also, wider stance is harder to shift your weight fully off the back foot.
Thank you for all of the wonderful tips. I have cured my hooks off the tee. Now I seem to be pushing the ball straight right. It usually happens when I try to hit it a little harder than normal. I can not seem to feel what I am doing wrong. Any suggestions??
Glad you like the tips. I appreciate the feedback.
You are sliding. This is what people who hook the ball do. To get rid of it you need to turn more. Once you get this you will hit it dead straight.

I have a friend who has a serious duck hook issue off the tee-box. (Very handsie.) Is there a way to give him a link to this lesson only? (He might likely become a subscriber.)
I can’t do this because it is a member tip. If I set it to public than anyone can see it. Have him join to watch it. He has 14 days to quit if he wants.
