  1. Paul ,Calluses are there to protect THE SOFT skin below .So why shave them off ?I have THE same clous on THE last little finger of left hand ,just like PETE ,plus another one on THE forth finger ,close to THE little finger .Should I shave them off as you show ?they are not painful at all ,and certainly not blisters .
What about calluses on THE bottom of THE right hand fingers ?(Less pronounced )
Do you get a Better feel for THE club in shaving THE calluses ?

      Raymond,

You shave them off because if you hit anywhere near as many balls as I did your hands hurt. Plus you may not be able to do the proper grip. If yours don’t hurt don’t shave them off. The choice is yours.

      Paul,

That’s great. All lot of people do get them especially those using cord grips. I like no calluses.

  3. When I took up golf 3 years ago I’d develop calluses pretty quickly but I was gripping the club really tight. Now I have a more relaxed grip and it is not a problem. If I do get some tough skin I find that a fingernail emery board or some sandpaper removes it quickly.

  4. If you utilize full cord or half cord grips (which are great ) ,hit a lot of balls without any gloves ,you develop calluses and subsequent pain .
I have photos of the hands of great HENRY COTTON after a practise session :they had black marks all over the place and not far from bleeding .
After hesitating sometime ,I wear gloves on both hands and have better adherence and control of my grips, without any tightening of the hands ,such as PAUL suggests us to have ,enabling to develop the “whipping” effect before impact .

      Raymond,

I used to hit 1,000 balls per day using cord grips. I know about sore hands. Not fun. The razor makes them perfect in minutes.

      Paul,

This is not why you get calluses. This is how to get rid of calluses if they are sore. I hit a thousand balls a day with cords grips. I was not gripping to hard.
