  1. great lesson. Hate to admit it but getting a good golf swing takes a lot more time patience and attention to detail than I think it should! So be it. So slow down and get to work. Thanks for the reality check.

  2. Wow great tip and video amazing the difference between the practise swing and the real thing. Working very hard on those positions. Keep up the good work Paul

    • Rod,

Glad you liked it. Thought it was interesting and I know he is not alone. To do that follow through there is no way he could be thinking about the positions. Got to change the way you think. It is about the movement not the ball. Get the movement you get the ball.

  3. I really enjoyed this tip. I am amazed at how patient a golf coach has to be. You deserve an award. Its amazing how our brains work with the golf swing. When i first started learning this new swing i thought i had it down. Practice was good. Then the first time i plsyed on the course, by the time i finished. I was back to my old swing. Oh the frustration. So more practice and played a round by myself. That really helped. Jut do what paul tells ya. It really made a difference.

    • Glenn,

Glad you like the tip. Thanks.

Yes, we need to be patient but at times I have to put my foot down.

I think we all have experienced it. The thing is I have gone through all of this before and I don’t want others to do the same. I am trying to give everyone my experience so they don’t have to go through it themselves. I guess sometimes you have to feel some pain in learning it so you never forget.

  4. Great tip. In the past (and still in the present, but much less so), I was one of those golfers who could whatever I wanted on the practice tee, then nothing on the course. My swing changed completely. I thought it was a psych problem, but I have learned that it was bad technique. All it took was a little tension in order for my swing to lose all its repeatability. It was founded on quick sand. I could never repeat my practice swings when I addressed the ball. Rarely, I did, which is what kept me going, thinking that all I needed to do was tame my nerves. Uh-uh. I needed a good pro, and I finally found one.

    • Will,

We have all been there. It is understanding and perfect practice working on the positions that gets you there. Glad you see it and are part of IG. I appreciate it.

Paul, I have just returned from Scotland. While there I had an issue with internet connections and login issue. So this is the first time I have been able to login to watch tips in almost 3 weeks. Oh, yes I see some of myself. Not exactly, but damn that little white ball. This was an excellent demonstration of what must be a common issue. This student should not feel like he is alone. Thanks to him and you for showing us this video clip. There is nothing like see ones self in the mirror. This maybe an extreme case, but I am sure many of your students, if they are true to themselves, can see something there that is familiar.

    • Peter,

Glad you’re back. Hope you had a good time.

Please catch up to the tips you missed by going to the homepage. They are listed there in the order I post them.
This is a constant thing I run in to. IN his case he was just bouncing it off his head. When you do these practice swing I would really like people to hold the follow through and let it sink it. This needs to be on your mind because this should be what you are thinking about as you are going to come down and through. So take your time with it.

Here are 2 good ones for you:

    Hi Paul,
I am a new student to the Body Swing and Ignition Golf. I truly love your presentations and videos. I have played many years but EXTREMELY inconsistent. I am hoping and praying that the new swing works for me. It looks pretty descent on the range. I have videotaped myself. I have not taken it on the course yet. I am nervous to do it. And I am one of those golfers who has gotten many compliments over the years on my practice swing and very many “What the hell was that” comments on my actual swing.
Thank You, Paul. I wished I lived in Vegas to get face-to-face lessons with you.
