    Paul,

Great video! I find that feeling the weight of the club with loose hands and arms helps create the lag feeling.

There is one thing I want you to address though it’s a slightly different topic. My lower body tends to start the transition before I reach the top of the back swing. What causes that? I get decent hits when that occurs but feel I’m not completing the back swing for maximum power.

      Peter,

Very good. If the club is starting to feel heavy you are letting the arms go. If so, they will start to lag, flatten in the downswing and stretch out through impact.

If your legs start before you hit the top you are rushing to hit the ball. I deal with this quite often. Look at the backswing as you setting the club up. Once set perfect you use the legs and hips to hit it. I like the fact that you are trying to use the legs. I don’t like the fact you are doing it too soon.

You need to work on pausing at the top:

  2. Paul, this video helped a lot, to start the swing i would say coil with loose wrist and when i got to the top i would say turn and follow through.I would take three practice swings before i would hit a ball, and i would start very slow and get a little faster ,its become a routine and is working out really well.My ball striking has gotton much better and feeling very solid.
