    Hey David,
I play from the senior tees; what do you mean when you say the tips?
    Thanks

  2. Hi!
My first thought when I listen to you in this video is ” this is mostly men doing this”! I mean playing “ego golf”. When I thought a little bit more I still think that that is the case…but…why is there always a but….at my, for this year new home course the par 3 holes are quite hard to reach for me….driver is to long and my shots with fairway wood is not enough reliable and my hybrids and irons are too short….In this situation I still try to reach the green with the tee shot…. 🙁 I love to play par 3 holes because of the fairly good chance I have to hit the green and make a par or a bogey on other courses, and because of that I end up playing ego golf on those holes….. even if I know I

  3. I don’t understand what in meint by ‘tips/back tees’, too.
I do understand the distinction between ego golf and strategic scoring decision quite well, though.
Yet I also experienced that making the seemingly ‘safer’ choice of scoring well, this is not matching up with my gut feeling or type/style of how I’d like to play the game…and causes bad results by working against gut feeling although (!) playing within limits…this makes me ponder on how to consider both aspects. Do you have any hint on that? Playing confident on the choices made to me seems to be one of the most important rules of success in golf.

Best thing to do is start to make better choices on the golf course which is what is the better percentage play to make. Is it a sucker pin or is it easily accessible. If you are not shooting close to or under par, then making safer choices going around a course would be the smarter choice, you have to know your limitations on the course also. Try 1 round where you aim at the middle of every green, no matter where the flag is then let me know how you scored. Take away the gut instinct of trying to go for every shot. Aim at the middle of every fairway, because this is the easiest you are going to make the game; middle of the green and middle of the fairway. Try this for 1 round and let me know how it goes.

  4. PS. the typo should read ‘is meant’ and my personality in golf is more of a ‘go for it’ attitude which I must admit is hard to discern from pure ego golf most of the time…am lacking confidence in general, I guess.
