Since we’re into the winter months, let me ask you if you have thoughts about play on extremely soggy dormant Bermuda. Human nature is to catch it thin because you don’t want to stick the club into the heavy muck.

    Any thoughts, Paul?

      Jay,

In these conditions you need to do a few practice swings feeling the back heel coming off the ground through impact. Too much weight on this foot is what causes fat shots so practicing it a few times keeps it in mind before executing.

  2. Hi Paul
I have a tall mirror on the landing in my house. The only problem I cannot swing the club due to insufficient height.
Is there any way around this problem.
    Regards
    Billy

I have been looking for a slow motion front view of your golf swing when you are hitting the ball but can’t find one. I know that they are there but where? Could you do a tip showing the slow motion swing front view using the nine to driver with every other club or even just one club as a separate tip. I have been taking videos of my swing and am not sure of the arms, particularly the left arm, at and after impact.

      Alan,

This is the best way to practice. You need to set up an area right away. Practice swings means there is no ball to hit. No ball means you can clearly focus on the positions and developing a great swing. A great swing hits great shots.

A very good reminder of how to practise off course and at home .That’s the only way I practise as I never go to the Driving Range :in front of the window panes on my veranda outdoors (On the French Riviera it never freezes ).I also have a wondow pane further out at right angles to surveil the follow through .I always set up a work station with alignmment rods and two swing speed radars, one at the supposed ball position ,which is marked down , ,another one one foot further to measure accelĂ©ration or deceleration of the clubhead .
My swing has gotten very consistent practising this way and the training sessions have given me confidence in my swing .
I swing on average 100 times per day when I don’t play on the course.
After reading the ancient golf book (“GOLF SECRETS EXPOSED “) of WILD BILL MELHORN ,I’ve introduced a slight change in my backswing :I lift slightly the heel of the left foot (I know you don’t like this move !):this gives me more turn and more time and a better weight shift back when I plant firmly the left heel in the throughswing .I get more speed and more distance without “torturing” my spine excessively .I keep careful to keep the Weight on the right instep ,so not to slide back (Not Sway )

      Raymond,

Just don’t lift the heel too much. If you lose the ratio you lose torque. No torque and you will hit with your arms losing consistency.
