what do you recommend doing if one is unable to get the shaft on the back of the neck, due to 25 years of weight lifting, and the resulting very limited flexibility,,cannot get the shaft on the base of my neck!!!

      Rich,

Place the club on the front of your chest and do the same drill. Make sure you are rotating it like the helicopter blades.

Isn ‘t better to practise THE “HÉLICOPTÈR DRILL”with THE club a cross THE hips ,with THE club behind your back at hip height ?
THE hips drive THE rotation OF THE swing ,not THE shoulders !

      Raymond,

The helicopter is to warm up. You need to stretch out the coil. This won’t happen with it on your hips.
