    Hi Paul

Will your arms always finish in the same place too when the club touches the back of your head parallel to ears at an angle? Soemtimes I find my arms finish differenlty and also you see some people with a straight right arm?

    Regards
    Naz

      Naz.

I want your arms to finish in exactly the same position. If they are not going there on there own then set them there manually. If you do they will go there on there own in the future.

The right arm would be straight at parallel to the ground on the through swing then they both fold to get the club to the touching of the head position.

Sound Instruction and advice ,Paul. As I told you ,I never go to the driving range ,I only play on the Golf course .I assume you have to follow the same “HOLD THE FOLLOW THROUGH “motto when hitting “real shots “on the course?(Can take time with the Driver ,off the tee!)
Before hitting a shot ,most of he top Pro’s rehearse their coming swing several times,2,3,4 times.
I do it only once ,just to loosen up .
What ,do you advise to do ?

      Raymond,

Holding the follow through gives you time to check it so you can and should be doing this when you play until you know with 100% certainty it is perfect every time.

You should be doing 2 practice swings thinking and feeling what you are trying to do when you hit the shot. Have a crystal clear thought and feel then execute.

This is just a great, well presented tip. All your tips are very good, but this one takes care of so many faults in such a simple way. The “touch your legs, touch your head” mantra is all I try to think about just before starting each swing now. I’ve been a member for a month or so, & my progress has just been amazing. I like having the ability to go back and review a tip as often as I want. My interest in golf has been restored completely and I look forward to getting better at your methods with more practice. Nice to feel I am now practicing the right moves, instead of ingraining faults into my swing like I’ve done so many times before. It’s also very nice to be able to finally understand the causes of a lot of my bad shots so I can address them quickly and correctly. I also want to say that I think it is important (for me anyway) to just be following your teachings and not trying to combine your tips with tips from other sources. With that in mind, I stopped my golf magazine subscriptions and no longer view instruction on TV. Some other good advice is out there for sure, but I am now convinced that your site is all I need to get pretty good at this game finally. Thank you so much for doing what you do.
It’s obvious that you truly want to help people play this game well.

      Gary,

Glad you liked it. Thanks for the support.

Also, glad you are seeing the importance of the follow through. This really is the most important position in the swing. Hopefully, the members are starting to see it. It didn’t even take you that long to see amazing improvement.

The game is so much more fun when you are not guessing. Takes a huge load off.

Many of my students stop watching golf instruction on TV and reading it in magazines. These sources do not like me. There goal is to make you worse so you buy more clubs. My goal is to put them out of business.

Paul ,I ‘m obliged to respond on the blog regarding the proper receiving of YOUR vidéos :I get them fine .
But the e-mails I send to YOUR électronic addresses don’t work ( neither of them ),I don’t know why .
I sent you thougths about Professor GRUBER of YALE UNIVERSITY STUDY of the Golf Swing ,but it didn’t go through neither .
Maybe you know this Mathematical study ,it’s not difficult to understand .The relevant point is That the body COIL which is assimilated to a steel spring does not work exactly as a steel spring ,insofar it’s response is not linéar ,which means that
Coiling backwards too much serves nô purpose ( You say the same thing ).
But Professor GRUBER must have taken lessons with you ,because his modélisation of the golf swing is exactly the one you describe:an axis ( The body ) ,a mass at the end of a string ( The club),and the mass is propelled by the axis (=body ) turning .
The ratio of backswing/downswing is studied also for Top Pro’s ,Expérienced Amateurs AND week end GOLFERS ( 2.5 to 3.5 )
You should have a look at it ,it does prove YOUR teaching is 100% right .
    Congratulations .

      Raymond,

Funny how my method matches up and I never went higher than high school. Just years of figuring it out.

Also funny how you can have proof as to how the golf swing works then the disbelievers seem to disagree. I will just keep doing what I am doing and someday they will understand what I am doing.

Paul,You don’t need to be highly educated in school to be a precursor and an inventor :most breakthrough discoveries were made by chance and by by people who were “opiniatred”(I don’t quite get the English proper word :people who keep digging on ,believing wht they do is right)
So just go on as you do.
Question :I just saw a video telling you should have the left shoulder touch the left cheek going back ,then the right shoulder touching the right cheek going forward :I believe this to be wrong as regards the right shoulder touching the right cheek in the throughswing ,as this prevents th free movement of the head .
Is it so? The head should be free to move (Slightly )

      Raymond,

That shoulder instruction seems very restrictive and would get you turning on too steep of an angle. You shoulder shoulder should be going under your chin. This person should know better.

A senior leftie from Scotland. I played today with the concise thoughts of touching the legs, touch the head and club parallel to the ears on the follow through and the body on a slight angle. I hit some of the most consistently good shots throughout the round as I have done for a long time.
I still have a 9 handicap but my ball striking has come on leaps and bounds since adopting your methods. Still have a tendency to pull the odd iron shot but again I now have a good idea of why that happens and how to rectify it.
Can’t wait for the warmer Spring weather to arrive. My enthusiasm for the game has rarely been higher thanks to your teachings.
    Keep those tips coming.

  7. Paul ,I watch most of the OPENS on the TV .
One thing strikes me :on most iron shots (TEE shots on Par 3’s, second or third shots from they fairway,)the Pro’s “hold ” their finish midway in front of them, they dont ” ,Touch Your Legs ,Touch your neck”.This is of course to better master these precision shots .RAFAEL CABRERA BELLO ,an excellent iron player is a good example of this swing .
Is this an example to follow or not to follow

    • Raymond,

If you are not seeing my positions in their swing you are seeing a swing where they are purposely holing off the follow through. This is more of a knock down shot. I have already done a tip showing the some of the best players doing my follow through. I have tons of pictures of the best of all time doing my follow through. This is fact.

I would not suggest copying pros other than the best of all time. Bello is certainly not the best of all time and never will be.
