When you load your weight on your right foot do you lift your left heel or do you keep it grounded? I’m hitting my drive straight but not getting the distance I want. I was told to try starting my back swing with my wrist while leaving the club head at the ball- helped to get a little more whip but then couldn’t keep it straight. Any insight would be great! Thanks!

I have been in TOUCH with JAACOB BOWDEN quite Some Time before you demonstrated THE ” single length ” clubs in your récent video and I took up THE subject with you at That Time ,but then I dropped investigating further ,seing nô clear benefit in their use .Then BRIAN DE CHAMBEAU came along and all OF a sudden it was THE buée OF THE moment ,but BRIAN DE CHAMBEAU is a big tall ,musculous Guy ,he’s not Mr AVERAGE Like you and me ,and m’y opinion you lose distance OF course with THE 6,5 ,4 ,3 irons ,just when ,as a MR AVERAGE you need distance THE most .Did you compare THE distances with Those OF your regular clubs ?Did You find More accuracy and More consistency in your shots ? did You take THE clubs to THE golf course ,and how did they perform against your regular set ?
I note you played THE steel shafted ones ,not THE graphite shafts …
What are your comments since THE first test ?

      Raymond,

Of course I checked the distances. I hit the ball just as far as my Taylor Made irons and they are way easier to hit.

I have them in my bag and now played about 5 rounds with them. I took out the SW as I mostly use SW on shorter shots and I like my Taylor SW. I am waiting on the 4 iron so I am still using my Taylor 4 iron. I really like them and will continue using them into the future.

Hi Paul, I have recently started hitting my shots on the heel of my club(s). I have a practice area set up in my home and use impact tape so I can tell exactly where I am making contact. I’ve tried your suggestions on this but just can’t seem to get out of it. To hit the center of the club face I have to align the center of the club about 1 inch short of the center of the ball. In other words, just the tip of the club is behind the ball in order to allow my swing to hit a center of face shot. I’m really frustrated. What do you think?

      Tom,

Heeling is hitting with arms. When you do, you send the club over the top so it is moving away from you thus hitting the heel. Heeling also causes fading/slicing. So whenever I have someone heeling it I get them doing the roll over drill first and get rid of any kind of slice spin. So you need to start with this first. Once you can get it hooking you then switch to body rotation to straighten it out.

      Here are the steps:

Once you can consistently hook it:

Thanks Paul, I’ll work on it. Seems like I am going back to “square 1” after good success. It sure is easy to backslide into old bad habits. Appreciate your help.
        All the best,

          Tom,

Yes, it is very easy to do. I have lost it in the past by getting lazy and not doing my swing positions. I learned my lesson. Now, I have clubs all over the house. Anytime I get a chance I do some swings. This is vital because I don’t practice much. Try to get into this habit to if you are not doing so already. Just repeat the positions until you know no other way to do them.

Hi Paul, just a quick update, after incorporating your suggestions I cured my heel issues but then 6 months later (May 2018) I fell back into old habits again. I pulled up this tip from the site, reviewed your suggestions, started allowing my head to move back to load up my right side and presto! I was puring my shots once again. Can’t wait for my next round to incorporate the correction. I’m loving the game again, thanks to you.
