Ive got to get to the range today to do the loose arms

    • Paul,

Why wait. Just do practice swings at home. Feel the stretch out. It takes some getting used to so do it as much as possible.

  2. Kevin straightens is back leg on the backswing which hinders him to turn his hips quicker, I had same problem didn’t realize it, I took care of it and am hitting much better. You still are the best teacher out there, bar none.

  3. Just great to see how happy Kevin is in his swing change. Very impressive! Congrats Kevin! Keep it up and enjoy the game even more.

  4. This series of videos with Kevin was really good, because we can see what it takes to make progress. I am fired up again. Can hardly wait to make similar progress.

    • Larry,

Very good. Yes, it takes understanding and work. See how many times I kept repeating “loosen up” and “let it go”. I go through this on a daily basis. Everyone just wants to hit the ball hard. The day they stop doing that is the day they get great results.

  5. I like these videos, Kevin seems like a great guy! and I like that you got him to stretch out his arms and letting the club go wide. This has been the most importent feeling for me to get used too as well and it helps me get distance and consistency. Once I do stretch the arms i hit it straight and in the sweet spot more often.

    • Stian,

Yes, he was great. We had a fun time and got great results.

Stretching it out is vital. Just got to let it go.

  6. I have attended Paul Wilsons golf school and my class was exactly the same as Kevins. Paul is a great teacher, sign up and see for yourself. Thank you Paul

    • Paul,

Good to hear from you. Thank you for the kind words and promo. I truly appreciate it.

What is it about the driver that makes it so difficult to let it go? Is it just because of the difference in length from the irons or is there some other law of physics involved with the bigger club head, kick point, etc.?

  8. Hi Paul,

Maybe not the right section, but I’m watching this tip and noticed you don’t respond to the testimonials so maybe you will here.

I’m sure I’m just overthinking things, but I’ve played 2 of my worst rounds ever since changing to your techniques. Frustrating yes, but what’s exciting is that I’ve also hit more relaxed effortless shots. I hit my 3wood 20ft left of a pin 250yds uphill and as you say, it felt like nothing. It kind of blew me away, but then on the next hole 160yd par 3 I shanked 3 balls off the tee so that was upsetting. Then I hit a 5iron on a short par 4 because it’s more of a placement shot needed, and again it was probably the purest 5iron I ever hit. The hole is 342 and I was 95yds out from the center of green. I have a natural draw so I tend to get more roll, but that’s 247 total with a 5iron, and I don’t even care about the distance as much as the effortless feel. Again, I followed that drive up with a skull over the green so much work is needed on my part.

I bought the course because I’m done being a 90’s golfer with some 100’s in there, and a couple mid 80’s rounds a year, so inconsistent. I’m 40 and have been playing for 20 years, and just haven’t gotten dramatically better so it’s time for a change, as painful as some of my future rounds may be.

I’ll be sure to leave my next update on your testimonials page, but after all that have you had other members/clients tell you they had the same results trying to take these techniques to the course too soon?

    Thanks

    • Scott,

Where do I not respond to testimonials? I have responded to every question on the this which is currently at 16,954 comments. Let me know.

If you just switch to my technique you will play some bad shots. I want bad rounds. This would mean you are changing which is good. As you see you are hitting some good shots. This is what you should be watching for because this is what is coming if you keep working on it. So you are right on track.

Shank – Simple. The cure is here:

      Why You Shank It: https://ignitiongolf.com/why-you-shank-it/

How To Cure the Shanks: https://ignitiongolf.com/cure-shanks/

The skulled shot was you wanting to see another amazing shot so you looked up. Swing easier. Ever top easy shots? I bet you don’t.

I think I see they testimonials you are talking about. Those are not people posting them on the site. Those are people who have emailed me and I have posted them on that page.

So keep in mind you are changing what you have done for 20 years. You are not good at it. You need to do the positions and lots of practice swings working on perfecting the positions. So reduce the number of balls you are hitting. Work on each position and perfect it. Each position gives you feedback and checkpoints so you can do it 100% right without me. This is one of the main reasons I teach what I teach. I am the guy who wants you to do it on your own.

If you don’t know the positions they are here:

      https://ignitiongolf.com/start-here/

When you go to play do this:

How To Take Your Swing From The Range To The Course: https://ignitiongolf.com/swing-range/
      What To Expect Practicing: https://ignitiongolf.com/expect-practicing/
What To Look For When You Practice: https://ignitiongolf.com/practice-what-to-look-for/

So you look for good shots and swing easy out there. Hold your follow through and check the positions. It will come int he near future. Every move counts now. Pros work on positions. We know the ball is in the future.

  9. Yes, you absolutely respond to everything so thanks for that, it was just on that testimonials page. I’ll comment else where for others to see how your program can benefit them, but I had my most meaningful range practice ever yesterday thanks to you.

I worked on all the positions and the biggest take away from the lesson you gave to Kevin was how heavy you said the club should feel. When I really focused on that my takeaway was easier, shots were more pure, and I’m finally able to get to my left side and finish (touch the back of head) with ease.

Now watching the US Open I’m seeing how many pros are setting up for shots as you teach. Wish I found you years ago.

    Thanks so much!!

    • Scott,

Glad you are getting it. I love hearing it. Just stick to the positions and build the swing.
