Hello Paul — Chuck Thompson here, after being away for about a month; went to Europe on a World War II Trip — Normandy, Battle of the Bulge, D-Day, etc, etc. We think every American should make a similar trip to understand the importance of America’s participation in WWII. The trip was fantastic; hope you can go sometime, or maybe you’ve already done so?

In addition to that trip I went with 5 other fellas and played 4 rounds of golf at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail near Birmingham, Alabama. It was as terrific as it could possibly be! Great courses in great condition; fabulous greens; beautiful layouts, etc. And, I played pretty well. I even played the Links course at Grand National where I got a hole-in-one in 1995 — hole #2, 165 yards over water. A memory to last a lifetime!

Now I’m back and enthused about continuing my efforts to learn “your” rotational golf swing. It’s much harder than I thought it would be. I’m having trouble letting go – letting the club hit the ball without me using my hands to create the hit!!! I’m eager to study your videos of the last month and incorporate the techniques presented there into my swing.

Bye for now; I’m glad to be back. I’ll write more soon! Chuck Thompson

      Chuck,

Sounds like a great trip. I will have to do it one day.

Golf sounds great too. I hear that Trail is quite the experience. Congrats on the hole in one!!!

Learning my swing is all about you telling yourself to hit the ball differently than you have ever done. It is the opposite but I guarantee that at some point in your golfing life you have hit a great shot farther than any other shot with a feeling of “nothing.” This is powerless arms. Now you just have to do it every time.

    Hi Paul,

I have some problems to feel the club heavy when approaching impact. This is so easy when I swing the club with one hand (left or right) then I can really feel the weight of the club, but this disappear more or less with both hands in the normal swing. Do you feel the club as heavy with 2 hands as with one ?

I have tried to move the hips to start t he swing and for some reason I am swinging over the top. In turn I am pulling the ball to the right (many lost balls) I think when I am turning my hips I turn my upper body also . I do not see how one can turn one’s hips and not turn the upper body.
Any way I am doing it well and my scores are rising. Probably the scores are up my putting has been rotten.anyway
Maybe you can tell me what I may be doing wrong If not now I will see you in November.

Paul, Where can I find the “feelings series” tips on the net so I can o back & watch them?
I ask because I believe this is the best way for me to learn how to stop hitting the ball & just swinging.
