Extra Tip Powerless Arms Test

By | on May 12, 2015 | 7 Comments |

In this tip I explain what powerless arms is along with a test you can do to feel it.  Make sure you try this as soon as you can.  Once you do remember this feeling and try it with a club. When you do it will become clear what you should be feeling as you hit the ball.

  1. Paul, your golf tips are just fantastic! Kind regards, Charly (Spain)

  2. Thanks Paul,
I know that trying to hit with my arms is my major problem, which causes my other major problem, head movement. At home without the ball, my swing seems so good, but once that ball is in front of me things change. I bought your system and have been working hard on your drills. I play or go to the range and hit the ball well at first and all of a sudden a shank, after that left, right, and in consistant. I am 73 years old and have shot in the 80s, 90s, and 100s, never consistant. I know that your program is the right one and I will not give up on it. I was going to email you and ask how to take the arms out of the swing, but received this today, hopefully I can make it work for me.

    • Tony,

Your swing changes with a ball because human nature is telling you to hit the object siting in front of you and you do not know the positions to work on to take your mind off of hitting. I teach the perfect follow through positions to not only make you swing looks great but to help you build a point b to your wing. So you are going from point a the top to point b the follow through not caring about the ball. Without these positions you will just keep whacking away at it forever.

If you have my products you know the positions so do them slow enough that you can actually do them. Right now you are swinging way too hard and not doing them. It is not about the ball. It is about the movement. Perfect movement equals perfect shots. So no matter how slowly you have to do them do them this slowly. Once you can, then and only then go a little faster.

Touch the legs touch the head perfectly. This means at home in practice swings, at the range and when you play until they are perfect.

  3. Hi Paul

    • Michele,

I can’t tell you how long you will have to practice. Some people get things fast others take longer. Once you stop hitting you need to drive the lower body harder to hit the ball farther. I have tons of tips on how to use your body on my Ignition Golf website. Use the drills to understand how to use your body then it is up to you to practice as much as you can. If you have used the arms for a long time this is a totally different way to hit the ball so it will take time before you accept it and get good at it but when you do it is well worth it.
