    Hi Paul,
while I’m focussed to change my swing, I got some problems with my short chips around the green. Often the first trial get wrong, topping or hit the ground but the second one is ok. Could you give my your recommendation for the right technic and what I should avoid to made those terrible faults killing a good score.
    Thanks in advance

    Paul,
Could you refresh my memory about the position of the hands/club face at the top of the swing?
Annie and I still frequently talk about our wonderful time in Las Vegas last May. My handicap is steadily going down and will hopefully continue.
    Best regards.
    Thanks.

    Paul,

I’m finding that I can check my right hand drip at set up, then when I hit a shot left with left spin and I check my grip after the shot, it has gotten too strong. Is it likely that I am just re-gripping without realizing it or is it possible that I am not holding the club securely enough and it is just turning in my hands? I’m thinking my grip may be a little too loose at the top but wanted to see what you have found.
    Thanks

      Steve,

If your hands are moving you are hitting with your arms. Watch:

Are Your Hands Coming Off the Club?: https://ignitiongolf.com/hands-coming-off-the-club/

The day I stopped hitting was the day my hands never moved off the club. I tried everything up until that point.

      • Thanks Paul. Did you find you had to consciously hold the club more securely at first or did it just come naturally when you got the arms out? I thought I was getting closer to powerless arms but it seems I have more work to do!

        • Steve,

When I first started doing the grip it was tight. After I put them on over and over again I could do it gently. This take constant work so every time you hit a ball you need to check your grip. Make it perfect then hit your shot. Over time you too will be able to do it without thinking about it.
