  1. Hi Jeremy, being an out of shape senior, this tip seems to be a good place to start getting some of that flexibility back. I have kind of ignored this part of golf and need to start working on it.
    Thanks, Mike

    • Hey Mike,
Glad you like it. I’m trying my best to have a nice variety of golf fitness exercises. I’m glad this one works well for you.

    Hey Henry,

I really enjoy your site and the exercise tips. I am having trouble with pain in my left hip, enough to occasionally to the point of almost buckling and almost falling. I have been doing back exercises for two years that including an exercise in which both knees are up and I cross a leg and ankle opposite leg just above the knee cap. Then I use the palm of my hand on the knee and stretch the hip by pushing my knee forward. Am I doing something wrong that would cause my hip to buckle?

    Jeremy,
I believe we discussed this before .Your’s is a good exercise ,but does not sollicitate the hips enough ,in m’y opinion( The first one ,I can’t do the second one with m’y two knees prothésises)
The one I do you showed already ,I lie on the back ,two ARMS extended at right angles .I fold one leg And cross it over to the other side And try to Touch the ground on the side OF the extended leg with the folded knee ,I hold 15 seconds ,then I unfold the folded leg And come back ,15 Times each side .
Very effective to untie the hips before playing .

    • OK… make sure you’re working BOTH of the hip rotation requirements for golf, external AND internal.
      Keep up the good work,

My physical therapist has me doing these with light weight exercise bands on the clam shell. It’s helped my turn greatly. Might be something to recommend once the exercise without bands becomes too easy.
