    Hi Paul,

Do you have a “distance to the ball” tip for the driver? Thanks.

Paul ,My first Pro teacher gave me an indication which is slightly different from yours :butt end of the club to the body (Navel):from the tip of the thumb to the tip of the little finger ,hand open ,fingers wide apart that’s about 20cm=8 inches for me.Is that too much ?
Then shouldn’t the shaft and the left forearm be aligned to be as close to a single plane as possible ?
I suppose that this rule doesn’t apply to the driver, ball teed up?
Now ,a different subject . I have incorporated in my swing a slight “sit down ” move at the end of the backswing ,when the club is at the top .This gives me more power to “spring up ” when going in the throughswing. Is that correct or not?

      Raymond,

No. I want 6-7″. You can check it from down the line. If you are doing it right your forearms and thighs will be parallel at about 6-7″ If you are reaching they will not be parallel.

Next, you are not doing a 1 plane swing so I do not care about the the shaft / left forearm position (I think you mean right forearm) as you can never eliminate the angle between the left arm and club. This is why no swing can actually be 1 plane.

You do not have to sit down. This is a visual squatting not reality. I did a tip on it but I can’t find it. If there is a gap looking face on and you turn it would appear this gap narrows going back. As you turn back to the camera it would appear to widen. This is a visual thing not reality.

This tip, in conjunction with the “thumb/finger tip to club butt” tip, really makes good sense. I read the latter tip first, was thinking this is kind of dorky, but after reading the toe tip, everything comes together, as all of your tips do…sometimes you just have to combine the tips to have a full understanding. Now I’m in the know…

      Marcus,

Yes, the setup is critical. Glad you found the right tips. There are so many on the site you can overlook the odd one. Try to make sure you are in a precise setup. This is vital to the overall swing and being able to diagnose your own flaws.
