In this tip I ushttps://ignitiongolf.com/swing-speed-radar/e the Swing Speed Radar unit to show you the difference between swinging at 95mph and 116mph. As you watch these two swings you will see that they are not all that different yet the result is about 100 yards difference in length. Does this mean you should be swinging really hard at it? No. It means if you do the right fundamentals you should at lease be able to swing at 95mph. Once you can do that it only a slight difference to generate even more clubhead speed.

      Richard,

There is no real way to tell because of contact, path etc. I can hit a 113 bad and a 95 great and they could end up the same distance.

I would say 95mph is going to be around 250 or so. Most people I see cannot break 90 mph. Most people I see do not hit it 250.

A few years ago I was tracking my shots and my average was 281. I feel I am hitting it even longer now.

      Did you watch this tip?
You are asking me about swing speed so this one might give you a better perspective.

  2. Wonderful demonstration. Very enlightening. When swinging faster, do you need to do anything to close the club face sooner and avoid a slice? Seems that when I try to turn faster the club face doesn’t square. I know you don’t advocate arm/hand manipulation, so does it square just because of anatomical relaxation? If so, does a faster turn require more vigilance about total relaxation, or is there a different way? Your work has been very helpful. Thanks in advance.

    • Yes, when you start to increase the turning speed of your body, the clubface will be left open. If you are looking to add power, then keep working on moving faster. But it is a 2 part process, then you have to work on getting the roll-over drill timed also. Turn faster, roll it over, go back to turning faster.
