Hi Paul that’s a great tip which I use only with different clubs, 52 , wedge, and 8 iron would you agree with this ?

    Hi Paul;
The only issue I’m having with chipping is from 1-3 yards from green to close pin. Is this just a feel shot? Thanks.

I’ve been using this technique for the past eight months or so but I was just wondering… Because your stance is open when chipping, do you swing towards the target or do you swing across your toes with the clubface slightly open?

    • John,

You should be swinging down the line. You are open with chips because there is not a lot of body action. It just allows you to get through it easier.

    Hi Paul
Following on from my previous comment regarding my chipping…do I turn my body to the right (away from the target) when I am hitting the ball? I do have the ball on my back stance, left hand showing 4 knuckles and hitting the club with a stroke-type hit…

Many thanks for your absolutely wonderful, technical instructions!

      MJ,

Glad you like the tips. Thanks for the feedback and support.

No real body movement going back. Again, it is like putting. You would not move your body going back in putting. Your hips do turn through though.

  5. This is the test reply to see if your plugin works. I am using you chipping method from farther and farther out . I think the last was about 40 yards. It really works well.

    Hi Paul,
I noticed when you hit the 7 iron in this tip, you seemed to move your lower body more. My understanding was that chipping was a similar to a putting stroke. Did I miss something, or was I not seeing it correctly? A tip on chipping or pitching out of deep rough would be hep as well.
    thanks,
    terr

There might have been a very slight amount of body movement, but you really do not want to be focused on that. Chipping is like putting but with your hands ahead. Get the correct chipping routine and you should be fine. Check out this tip:

    Hello Paul,
When you setup for a chip shot your hands are forward by doing this are you still able to use the bounce of the club?
    Thanks
    Marco
