    Paul,
Does it make any difference as to which eye you should close for the proper ball alignment ??

      Harvey,

Look at it with your dominant eye so it is directly overtop of the clubshaft. I was looking at it with my right eye.

      Lotta,

If someone is trying to fix your shots with ball position and you are not a low handicap golfer they are putting band aid on the problem. I’m glad you are making the necessary swing changes. It will pay off even more in the future as you keep working on it.

Paul ,I’m puzzled with this tip :I was taught to have the ball a distance of One ball inside the left Heel ,then move the back foot More or les s depending on the club I use :More wide stance for long irons and fairway Woods ,shorter stance for mid and short irons .this seems to work with your tip for ball position ,opposite right eye ,then move the right foot .
Is this correct or not correct ?

    Hi Paul,

I am very happy with your tips. It helps me a lot.
I just watched your tip on checking the ball position.
But…did you aver did a tip on ball positions in general. It seems that many people, including trainers, heve different opinions abot what is the right position for which club.

    with best regards,
    Theo

What is the ball position if you use single length clubs 5 iron thru gap wedge?

    • Mary,

I liked to play it a ball or two inside the left foot. Just try 1 ball then 2 balls and see which you like. The whole idea is consistency.

  7. Paul, is there a way to check your ball position on the course with a practice swing? I have a tendency to set up with my ball position too far back! Thank you, CT

    Hi Paul,
Working on your fundamentals every day and getting better. Question on teeing the ball. I have been practicing with just a 7i for a month with it teed fairly high, about a 1/2 inch off the mat with club soled behind the ball before the takeaway. How does your swing adjust when you go from using a tee on a par three to hitting off the fairway? Is it an automatic hand-eye coordination thing? But if we are not trying to help the club or hit anything how does this work. Should the ball position be same for teed up or on the deck? Some golfers hover the driver with it teed way up. I don’t feel comfortable hovering and tee my driver ball as you suggest. Just wondering about tee height as I want to start to lower it towards the mat once I can hit 30 nice ones in a row. Is just a sub-conscious thing?
    Thanks for giving me hope!

      Richard,

I answered this in your other question.

1/3 in is too high for you now. If you are in the 30’s you are getting to be a better player so start lowering it. If you have to bend down to hit it then do so. It is a half inch. This is nothing. Get the contact then just let it happen. I never have a problem going from teed up to the ground with people.

Sure then may top the first couple but once they loose up it’s a non issue.

Don’t hover driver. Those who do never do this right.

Sounds sub conscious and you are making way too much out of it. Just lower it half the amount. Get used to it then lower it just above the ground. The take it away.
